The blob opera

The blob opera is a web area on the Google Arts & Culture platform that allows users to create their own opera sounds by dragging each of the four ‘blob’ characters up or down on the screen to change the pitch of their voice. It requires no musical skill by the user and is actually the result of a machine learning experiment by David Li (digital artist). Users can record their efforts and take their blob singers ‘on tour’ by selecting different global backdrops. The machine learning model trained on the voices of four opera singers.
