Natural History Museum – Virtual Museum
Launched in May 2020, the Natural History Museum (NHM) opened its micro-site called Virtual Museum – 13 ways you can explore from home. Users could access a range of media from slideshows, video and text to 360 tours of different areas of the Museum. The website also enabled visitors to browse a digital library, undertake quiz’s and take part in live discussions on different topics, exhibits or areas of the museum. Content included an audio tour by Sir David Attenborough of the Hintze Hall (the famous entrance of the museum) and its displays. Each Tuesday and Friday between May and August 2020, interactive talks with NHM scientists were broadcast. The virtual museum content remained available beyond the 2020 Covid restrictions and some on-line talks continued into 2021.
