Delirious Departures
Delirious Departures is a VR in-person experience created by the Belgian tech business CREW for the Royal Museums of Fine Art of Belgium. The installation transformed a room in the Museum into the departure hall of a railway station with visitors experiencing the sights, sounds and feelings of a train station including the conversations, service announcements, closing doors and passengers slurping coffee and other. CREW created and manipulated series of 3D scans and drawings of railway stations to create a VR environment and combined it with AI. The installation is part of a wider exhibition ‘Tracks to Modernity’ and was a ticketed exhibit which appeared to have ran between the 25 and 28th of November 2021.
