Carrickfergus Castle AR Heratage Views

Carrickfergus Castle AR Heritage Views is an experimental app for mobile apple devices that uses augmented reality to enable the user to travel back in time at various points around the Norman castle. Located in the town of Carrickfergus in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, the historic site attracted fewer visitors than the honeypot locations close by. Commisioned by the DMO, Tourism Northern Ireland to address this and launched in 2019, the app offers three sequences to users to help bring the castle to life. Via their mobile phone, visitors can experience the cannon being fired, the diffrent stages of the castles constuction along the outer wall and a historical sceen of the Keep.
